The ingredients needed to prepare Pot Roast:

  1. Provide 2 1/4 lb of roast.
  2. Get 4 medium of carrots.
  3. Provide 1 medium of yellow onion.
  4. Provide 1 packages of mushrooms.
  5. Take 4 clove of garlic.
  6. Provide 6 of petite red potatoes.
  7. Prepare 2 tbsp of salt.
  8. Get 2 tbsp of pepper.
  9. Use 1 tbsp of garlic salt.
  10. You need 1 tbsp of red pepper.

Instructions to make Pot Roast:

  1. Chop vegetables into bite sized chucks.
  2. Season meat with salt, pepper, garlic salt and red pepper and place meat on top of veggies.
  3. Add two cans of broth to pot. I used chicken broth because it's what I had on hand, but feel welcome to use what you have..
  4. Add in smashed garlic. I didn't mince mine, but smashed it with a knife to release to juices and added it whole to the pot.
  5. Set temp to what you prefer. I placed mine at 6 hours.

Method First rub the inside of the chicken with salt and pepper and a little butter. Then place the onion stuck with the cloves inside the chicken and rub some butter and seasoning over the outside. Pot roasts typically use the tougher cuts of beef—a chuck roast or shoulder roast—which have the most flavor. Slow cooking at low heat is what melts the tough connective tissue between the muscle fibers, leaving you with tender meat that pulls apart with your fork. For pot roasts, and other slow cooked tough meats, fat is your friend!
